Lash retention tips & tricks for beginner lash artists

Lets be honest – We’ve all been there! 🤯🤯

From experience, when clients tell us they’ve been following the correct aftercare, it’s not that they’re lying.
It is that they forgot, or don’t know better!

Its our jobs as lash artists to educate our clients!

The more knowledge you can give your client, the better it’ll be for their lash retention and your client retention! 🙌🏼

Here are the non-negotiable lash aftercare rules we tell our clients… 
We go into detail with our clients so buckle up!
 

💦Avoid steam and moisture for the next 24-48 hours. 
INCLUDING Hot steamy showers & saunas

🧽Wash lashes daily, with a LASH CLEANSER.
Bonus points if you dry them with a mini hand-held fan
REMEMBER: you wouldn’t wash your hair with face wash, so don’t wash your lashes with it

🪥Brush lashes daily with your lash wands provided to you

🧴Steer clear of face products that include: glycol, glycerine, retinol, & any other oils. 
BONUS TIP: if its ‘hydrating’ its probably got oils in it

😴 No face/side sleeping.
If you’re likely to do it, ensure you have silk pillow cases on your bed!

🙌🏼 Alert your lash artist of any changes (including dosage changes) to any medications that may affect your hormones! 

Over the past four years, the two big aftercare issues I have noticed with my lash clients is in relation to WHAT they wash their lashes with and OIL based products they use, so I ensure I provide as much information as possible surrounding these two points.

Pair your clients following these aftercare rules and steering clear of those key ingredients with great application and I guarantee 99% of your lash retention issue will disappear and you will be known for creating long lasting lashes 🔥🔥
